Gold, a symbol of prosperity and abundance, lends its lustrous elegance to the Bishtu Serenity rug. Adorned with woven golden borders, the Bishtu is inspired by the similarly embellished a’aba (meaning “to fill out”) cape, customarily worn on special occasions in the Arab world to signify power or wealth. The ivory-hued tweed material, however, contrasts with the sumptuous trim, imbuing the artisanal mat with a charming simplicity and earthiness.
